GILAPPLE by UNDERCOVER: When High Fashion Meets Interior Design
Monday

13 years ago, when I was still in college, I wrote an essay for my marketing course on how luxury brands should collaborate with other casual brands, suggesting the possibility of corporations from different industries doing crossover work and how it could help a brand evolve.
I got a C+ for that paper because my professor thought I was unrealistic and politically incorrect.
Screw that.
Now, you see Apple crossing over with Nike, Alexander McQueen mixing it up with Puma, Medicom Toy doing it with Cartier and Chanel, BVLGARI opening its resorts… the list just goes on and on and on.
My point is, there is no limits as to what a brand can do.
The latest of that list is GILAPPLE by Japanese high fashion brand UNDERCOVER, a fashion brand extending its kingdom into the interior design field. It’s fashionable. It’s cool. It sure is gonna create some noise. Black is my personal favorite. But I actually wanted all 3 colors.
Jun Takahashi, please make me a sofa next time.
